"It's called what? CrossFit? Ok, and it's where? The track at the high school on Saturday. I will be there!" The following Thursday, "Oh, sorry I missed out on Saturday, it was pouring down rain and storming so I figured you didn't have it."
"Oh, we have CrossFit, rain or shine, we were there, I'm sorry you missed it. it was a good time!", one of the instructors informed me. From that moment on I knew that this CrossFit thing was serious business!
My first time ever going to a workout was fun and exciting! It was hot as hell, but challenging and fun. Shaun had us doing tabatas and kept adding on movements.
That was August, here I am nearly six months later and I still view every workout as fun and exciting! I have never been "addicted" if you will, to a form of exercise, but crossfit is! For me, it's my "me time". Each workout being different and challenging, giving myself that sense of accomplishment. If my work schedule allowed it I would go twice a day.
They call it the 'new evolution of fitness', so for those of us who can't complete the prescribed workout, it's modified. I would encourage anyone and everyone who hasn't already taken the opportunity to come check out CrossFit on the River and see what I'm talking about! For those of you member's it's a new year! So for me, my 2010 CrossFit resolutions are to continue evolving, push myself, and see "Pyro", on the right side of the board under one of those prescribed WODs! Who's with me???
